Kevin Bryant Uni4U Project Manager
Uni4U will comply with all relevant
statutory environmental requirements and work towards
preventing or reducing harmful impact on the general
and local environment. We have identified energy usage,
waste production and the use of resources as our main
environmental impacts. We aim to reduce these by:
-
Efficient use of energy and water
-
Use of a Green Energy
Supplier
-
Purchasing of recycled and/or environmentally-sustainable goods (such as recycled paper and printer toners)
and choosing environmentally-friendly services where possible
-
Raising awareness
regarding saving energy in the office through:
· Use of recycled paper
· Shared printers
· Double sided printing
· Energy awareness switch-off campaigns (we have Carbon Trust "Switch it OFF!" stickers near to power points and light switches) and
setting all IT equipment to power-down
-
Segregation of:
· Waste
· Recycling paper
· Aluminium cans
· IT equipment and printer cartridges
-
Waste minimisation
initiatives such as online services for registration
and procurement
-
We have reduced the number of rubbish bins in the Uni4U office from seven to one!
- The Project Manager cycles to work and all other members of staff use public transport.
Improvement targets
are set regularly and updated to ensure continual
improvement of the Uni4U's environmental performance.
This policy will be reviewed
regularly for its suitability and relevance. All
changes are approved by senior management and communicated
to all staff and interested parties.
